My Approach

Sarah believes meaningful transformation happens when individuals feel safe enough to explore even the most painful parts of their story. She creates a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients can heal and grow at their own pace. Rooted in a person-centered approach, Sarah values authenticity, empathy, and the strength of the therapeutic relationship.

Her philosophy of counseling stems from a Christian worldview, which holds that all people are created in the image of God and are designed for connection—with both others and God. Because we are relational by nature, many of life’s struggles often arise from unmet needs in our relationships. While this perspective shapes Sarah’s approach, she welcomes and honors clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, and worldviews.

Sarah takes a holistic view of mental health, considering the mind, body, emotions, relationships, and spirituality. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from past trauma. EMDR works by using bilateral stimulation—often through guided eye movements, tapping, or sound—to help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional charge. This allows clients to recall difficult experiences without feeling overwhelmed by them, making space for new, healthier beliefs to take root.

Sarah specializes in working with teens and adults navigating trauma, abuse, transitions, relational difficulties, grief and loss, and anxiety.
